Swinging doors for Adebayor and Eto’o in package deal to be offered by Barcelona

By Aries

"I have no intention of leaving Arsenal. One wants to make history and leave their name engraved on the club. And I do hope here, because I love Arsenal." Thus said Emmanuel Adebayor.

It is reported however that Barcelona are not to be thwarted by Adebayor’s recent statements in the British press, such as the above, pledging his allegiance to Arsene Wenger and Arsenal

Apparently Barcelona’s newly appointed coach, Pep Guardila has drawn his transfer plans for this coming window and has placed Adebayor on top of his wish list.

He considers Adebayor as the missing link in Barcelona’s attack which so obviously lacked bite in this so disappointing season.

Adebayor has after all scored 30 goals for Arsenal in all competitions and is second only to Ronaldo with 24 goals in the Premier League.

Barcelona according to “Elmundo Deportivo” values Adebayor at three times the value he was bought by Wenger from Monaco two and a half season’s ago for about £8m.

Barcelona are now expected to put a specific offer to Arsenal which will be difficult for Arsene Wenger to ignore! This will involve the offer of a package deal which will include Samuel Eto’o as part exchange for Adebayor.

What will determine whether there will be an exchange of money between the clubs will be the valuations placed on each player. If Arsenal are willing to part company with Adebayor that is….

Barcelona on their part are hopeful that Wenger will consider their offer as he has a close personal relationship with Eto’o often providing advice not only on matters football.

He is also a known admirer of his skills which fit in quite well with Arsenal’s style of football.

Maybe Arsene Wenger will consider Barcelona’s offer but keep the swinging doors open only for the Cameroon ace to slip in.

Are these Arsenal’s top five players of the season?

Wenger’s three experiments that went bust and two that didn’t

  1. I think we should take up the offer. Eto is a fantastic player and will certainly add grace and experience to a team that needs a fillip right now.

  2. SHOULD THIS HAPPEN,IT WILL BE THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE,ETO'O WILL OFEER US THE PACE THAT IS LACK AND WITH CESC PROVIDING THE"SHOULD HAVE SCORE " PASS SURELY ETO'O WILL SCORE 20+ GOALS PER YEAR.NEW CB NEXT PLEASE

  3. It depends if they offer 8-10 plus etoo, wenger wont take it.

But if they offer 10-15 plus etoo
    maybe he will accept it.

Remember etoo is not the same player any more, he's lost some pace and he is not as explsive as he used to be.

And you have to consider the wages etoo would want

Do you think he would settle for £35 000 a week, which is what adebayor is currently earning

    I dont think so

And Adebayor hasn't, is that what you're trying to say? Wtf!

Eto'o has been a great player, but he hasn't looked anything close to his former self in the last season, tho' no doubt hampered by injuries and mood swings, which is another thing that worries me. He moans A LOT. That may change if he moves to another club where he feels more at home, which he might do at Arsenal.

That said, I wouldn't part with Ade. He's younger, scores goals, has a good understanding with Cesc (main provider for the big man, as he was last year), plus he seems to enjoy playing for us, re: his comments. Eto'o, right now, is just a big name.

  5. although eto is not as good as on that final against us i dont believe he has been given the chance to recover from that injury also the amount of presure and politics at barca at the moment. he is still fast strong and a great finisher. a good pre-season with us and he will be fine. ps he kept our golden boy out the side.
if we dont get him he could always go to chelsea, liverpool or mancu.
ade however is strong in the air very mobile for a lanky guy.but he is turning into henry, when he first came he was a more direct player now he is an excellent team player and that is why ac, real and barcalona like in him. during the season he impressed me 3 quarters of the way last quarter he lost his way ; maybe the praise made him think his job was done and if he goes then maybe it was done.
id like them both 1 team player and 1 direct player. not sure about giving up on him. eto is still a dream player to have also he does not like drogba.

So unless his formerself is Dixie Dean he had a pretty damn fine return in front of goals - but thanks for your razor sharp analysis of the spainish league

  7. Eto'o's injury record worries me. On paper, Eto'o and RvP could be the best attack in world football. Throw in Rosicky and it would be like seeing Henry, Bergkamp and Pires in their prime.

The only problem is that all three are perma-crocks. There's no point in having three players of this quality if you can't get a season's combined worth of games out of them.

Although Ade isn't as good as Eto'o, Adebayor has played 48 games for us this season whereas Eto'o's played that number of games in the last two seasons!

I'd rather take the risk that a physically reliable player like Ade is a one season wonder than hope Eto'o can manage 45 games in one season.

  8. If we turned down Eto'o for Henry, why should we consider Eto'o for Adebayor?

  9. there is no point if arsenal will take eto without getting good combination of good player
for my decision if Samuel Eto come to our lovely arsenal he may be good score for arsenal football couse he can manage to shot and attempt the goals as many chance as he can, but if Barcelona they can do this deal with henry that could be better. and i don't want arsenal to delay if this opportunity come plz.thanx

  10. cant we have both. r we a selling club?

  11. An emphatic no. Given our appalling injury records, a injury prone forward is certainly the last thing we want. We surely can have Van Persie and Etoo forming a lethal striker partnership, on the medics table.

    Plus Eduardo as sub.

  12. this is just more made up transfer speculation.
some people have nothing better to do than think up this utter nonsense

theres no links to this kind of story nothing

and im sure we had on option when we sold Henry to them

    stop with the nonsens

  14. Eto is a great player and will be great for Arsenal but if he Arsenal if Arsenal should go for an exchange the answer will be a big NO SIR..Ade is promising and he has a place in history..the problem with him is playing in a 4-5-1 which I think will change in coming season...if Barca really wants eto out then they should take senderos and give us Eto and not take Adebayor to give us Eto
