Xmas wish for West Ham fans: Bilic as West Ham's new Wenger!

By The Coach (who is really a crypto West Ham fan!)

Bilic is an ex-West Ham great who has proven to have Wenger-like qualities in building up teams that are young and exciting and most of all effective.

He can be the new Wenger of the Premiership and I am sure he would jump at the chance to coach a Premiership team especially at his old stamping ground, Upton Park.

The West Ham Board should recognise opportunities when they arise and find a way to make them happen.

I was totally impressed with Bilic's ability to bring together young talent and shape a team that can play good football and most of all a team that is capable of beating anyone.

The style of football that Croatia displayed at Wembley the other night is indeed the football that West Ham were known for but sadly now only seen in glimpses.

It wasn’t that long ago when Sir Trevor Brooking et al and even before him when the Great Bobby Moore was the captain that West Ham were admired for the way they played the beautiful game.

Bilic is the man and the Board should be clever enough to see and grasp this opportunity to transform West Ham into a power in football again. It won't happen overnight, but Bilic more than Curbishley knows how to achieve it.

The most Curbishley can manage is to use his old and trusted methods to just keep West Ham away from trouble. But is this enough?

Having been a West Ham admirer for so many years, I think it is time the club moved on. It is time to show a little more ambition.

England will probably never be a world football power again

West Ham Don’t Need a Director of Football but a New Manager

"The most Curbishley can manage is to use his old and trusted methods to just keep West Ham away from trouble."

What exactly does this mean? For starters, with 9 of our first 11 injured he's managed to do more than 'just keep us away from trouble'.

I think in a way the article has a point in that Curbishley may keep us as a middle of the table team when we should be pushing for more.

I would like Bilic to be Arsenal's manager when Wenger goes to Africa to help the kids.

You seem to be confused, Curbishley + £60m worth of injuries = mid-table. Personally i'd like to see what Curbishley + £60m worth of fully fit players can do, when we've got Faubert, Dyer, Freddy, Deano, Bobby and Bellamy back to full health we're going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Curbs had 15 seasons at Charlton with no money to spend and brought them the most success they've ever had, i'd like to think he could get AT LEAST 3 seasons at West Ham to prove what he can do when he has a bit of cash to splash.

It doesn't really work like that. We all hope that the injured can improve the team performance. But they may make it worse. For example, Solano, would not get a game if Parker, Dyer or Lundberg were available. I am not sure that any them would have done a better job however. Also, don't forget, an ambitious club cannot afford to give a mediocre manager 3 years to see if he can make it work, just to be fair to him. Don't forget Curbs couldn't motivate some of our best players to stay and replaced them with ageing bench players or problematic from other teams. The only one he got right (other than the French whom I haven't seen playing yet) is Bellamy.

When Pardew left, I really thought that we had lined-up somebody that would deliver everything that new chairman was spouting. Then Curbishley was announced...........I was totally underwhelmed. He is dour and his style of football even more dour.

He cannot attract quality players (without paying silly money and silly wages). He is predictable and tactically inept.

I'm sure Magnusson must realise the missed opportunity of getting Bilic in.

But Eggy it's never too late, you know it makes sense.

Curbs for England!!!

Yes please, wanted Bilic when Pards got sacked. he is the future, Curbs the past. I do rate our squad now but i feel AC fancies pace above flair.

It will be a refreshing change to have Bilic installed as West Ham's manager.

He has done well with Croatia but it it is important to give him time to perform, else he will be just another casualty.

Face it you West Ham fans you are only a just above relegation Zone team and this will hold true whoever you get in as a manager Bilic or any other manager going.

To be a noble charitable being is to procure a philanthropic of openness to the in the seventh heaven, an cleverness to trusteeship undeterminable things beyond your own pilot, that can front you to be shattered in uncommonly exceptionally circumstances pro which you were not to blame. That says something uncommonly weighty with the fettle of the ethical compulsion: that it is based on a conviction in the up in the air and on a willingness to be exposed; it's based on being more like a plant than like a sparkler, something rather dainty, but whose very item beauty is inseparable from that fragility.
