Milan desperate to lure Dzeko

By 1970’s Gooner

Just when it seemed that things were beginning to get hot, in fly Mr. Galliani and Ariedo Braida, AC Milan’s President and Finane director respectively, to scamper Arsenal’s chances of landing hit man Edin Dzeko.

It seems that they realised that Arsenal were getting pretty close to getting their man and decided to act very quickly.

We can reveal that they actually flew in their private plane to Sarajevo, capital city of Bosnia and Hercegovina, last Saturday and spent the whole day on Sunday talking to Dzeko’s agent, Irfan Redžepagić.

“We began contact when Wolfsburg played against Milan in the UEFA Cup. They called me five days ago and expressed the wish to come. They came to get the consent of the player to talk to Wolfsburg.

After a telephone consultation with Edin we have his consent and actually said to us that it is such a pleasure that Milan is interested in him” Redžepagić said to the Bosnian media.

He also revealed that Milan has so far demonstrated the greatest interest to sign Dzeko.

“Galijani and Braida came here to show how serious they are. They made it clear that they want to see Dzeko as a Milan player” added Redžepagić.

Redžepagić also confirmed that apart from Milan and Arsenal there are three other teams interested in Dzeko: Manchester City, Chelsea, Lyon and Inter Milan. He also offered the opinion that Dzeko will probably not be playing in Germany next season.

“I will inform Wolfsburg the contact with Milan. Objectively, I think that Wolfsburg is now in a race with clubs that are a few classes above in every respect” Redžepagić said.

This turn of events is doubly bad news for Arsenal. For one it seems that the price for Dzeko will now be in the £20m region which may be prohibitive for Arsene’s low budget.

The other reason is that if Milan get their man they will certainly cool off any interest in buying Adebayor and I am one of those that would like to see the back of him….

well that looks like being that... wenger is in china rather than meeting the players he wants. I'm not saying its a bad thing but hats off to galliani and his men for going the extra mile.

looks like we'll be seeing a lot more average finishing, offside flags, moaning, arrogance and a lot more from the comic that is one emmanuel adebayor.

UNLESS!
chelsea come in with a bid.

I'm actually quite happy with this. Adebayor is a lot better player than Dzeko. One bad season and you want to get rid of him?
PATHETIC I SAY!!! Players can be at their best all the time.
This Dzeko lad has a good scoring record but the German league is piss. Most of his goals were tap ins anyway. Bayern Munich lost 12-1 was it. And Chelsea nearly beat Barca. That shows ths difference to their league and ours. Dzeko will be a failure mark my words. Without Zvjezdan Misimovic setting him up for the tap ins he wouldn't have scored 1/4 of the amount.

Ade may not have had his best season with us, but then there are other players i.e. Cesc who also had a less than stellar year, but I don't hear you clamouring for him to be sold. I wonder why?

Dzeko had one good season in Germany, which is not the best league in the world, who's to say he would do well in the PL? £20m is way too much to pay for such an unknown quantity, when we have a player who already has PL experience and when the supply is there, has shown that he can do the business.

A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush, but too many Arsenal fans seem to think that any player who doesn't play for Arsenal is always better. Maybe it's familiarity that breeds contempt and perhaps if you saw more than a 3 min You Tube clip of Dzeko, you might notice that he doesn't do everything right any more than Ade.

@ Last Anonymous.. Brilliant comment that's what I was trying to put across in the comment before, but you said it in a lot better way. I totally agree and don't know what these supporters are playing at.... Next season Ade will be top class. With our defence sorted. Rosicky and Eduardo coming back. Fabregas back into form setting ade free. V.persie ,Arshavin, Walcott, Nasri... Vermaelen 6ft 1 and hopefully zapata signings should make us strong as... Also Gallas, Toure and JD CB. We are selling big Phil and crossed fingers Silvestre.....

wenger will sign new striker just after adebayor had sold.
wenger`s first to sign is the defender ,the sharp shooter goal is also needed but as we know how much can wenger spend? so for the next season arsenal could be survived at top four rang but arsenal could not win the title without sharp goal scorer.

Arsenal WILL NOT sign a striker this summer - even if Adebayor is sold (whch I doubt).

Last season, with Ade, Walcott and Cesc missing for large parts of it (not to mention Eduardo and Rosicknote) we scored as many goals as Manure and Chelski. Arshavin eld, I know, but that is what he is paid to do. Oh yeah, we also now have Vela in the wings.

Either way, GOAL SCORING IS NOT OUR PROBLEM.

We need to shore up te defence and get a combative midfielder. looks like this is wehat Arsene is trying to do.

Calm down. It's only June 10th!

As soon as Kaka leaves Milan, I hope Adebayor is sold. We don't need a player who needs 10 oppourtunities to get into onside position once. He will never get that one right. He will always get stick from fans at the Emirates because he has personality problems. I know him from Africa so I can tell you that. I won't be surprised either if he has problems with some of his colleagues. That's Adebayor! He suddenly thinks he's Thierry Henry. No mate! Your not! Get the fuck out of Arsenal. We need a No 9and Dzeko is your No 9. Adebayor cannot play as a central striker as he clearly cannot stay onside to have any effect. Thats why he always likes to play from the left of attack. That's a second striker's position. A main striker stays centrally and causes damage centrally. We all see how Drogba plays the No 9 role excellently for Chelsea with a strong midfield spine.

That's what we need to do at Arsenal. I pray we get Dzeko to combine with Arshavin in the hole.

It's time we start building around Arshavin and Dzeko would be a good start. When Arshavin came to Arsenal he chose to be friendly with Bendtner and not Adebayor. That speaks volumes IMO. Adebayor can score goals on his day but he does not have the first touch of a killer striker. That is the main problem. Dzeko's first touch is better and I don't also need to say Bendtner's intelligence will get better. Get rid of Adebayor now for a handsome amount of money now that we get the chance.

With defensive signings (I'm hoping we get 2) and a giant midfield enforcer, I'm sure we'll see a big difference if we sign Dzeko added to that (hoping Adebayor exits)

If we can't bring Dzeko and Ade goes, who do u think we should bring? As it seems Eboue and Sanderos may also be sold and then we will have at least 30m from these 2 and Ade. I think we should go for Benzema. what about you?

ARSENAL will always be going backwards. Why would you all be clamouring for ADE to go? The whole team was poor and this is partly due to the loss of Hleb & Flamini the previous season. The very people who were saying "we do not need them" are the same who are spreading this hate language against ADE.

ARSENAL should not be dismantiling the team but adding on in defence and perhaps one strong Midfielder.

Only a fool will think that Bendtnar will get better than Adebayor. Not in a million years. Walcott has not performed but we do not hear any noises about him.

Personally If ADE goes I hope he stays in the Premiership and we will see how he does against the likes of Aluminia, Djorou & Gallas.

The hatred for ADE is not all about football.
