Osasuna wrapped up 2007 with their first home victory in five games, after deservedly beating Mallorca 3-1. They led by two goals, the second scored two minutes in the second half before Mallorca reduced the deficit two minutes later.
Osasuna for all their superiority found themselves under some pressure as the game opened up with Mallorca pushing for the equaliser. Arsenal’s Mexican wonder kid Carlos Vela came on in the 64th minute and immediately started to have an impact on the left wing with his dribbling and lightning pace troubling the Mallorca defenders.
Portuguese midfielder Hugo Viana finally secured the win for Osasuna adding the third and his first of the season four minutes into injury time, when he finished a brilliant play from the left by Mexican winger Carlos Vela.
Vela picked up the ball on the half way line on the wing and went on a fantastic run leaving the defenders helpless behind him before laying it on a plate for Viana to have enough time to roll it into the net from close range.
Watch the video of all the goals as they are worth viewing.

Vela looks the real deal. I'm looking forward to him playing for Arsenal. He looks a top player, and more importantly, a Arsenal type of player. Would like to congratulate Bob Wilson on recieving an OBE!
Vela will be the left winger we are looking for. But next year prob.
Well done Bob Wilson
In all fairness it was the defenders error that gave the ball away. Havent seen the game so have no idea how Vela was. Its better not to go overboard with him now...
I disagree: Vela is not likely to be one for next year, except for the Carling Cup. Whatever happened to the 6 mos. bedding in period for midfielders and forwards, especially from Latin leagues? He may prove me wrong, and we could use a left sided midfielder with pace and an eye for a pass, but Vela has a long career ahead of him so why rush. We have plenty of just now emerging talent to get excited about -- Bendtner, Walcott, even Eduardo. Indeed, most of the first team seem to be getting better and better. Ours is an embarrassment of riches, whether we get out hands on silverware this year or not. Rewind back two seasons -- we saw this coming, but probably had no idea it'd be so exciting so soon. It could all go horribly wrong, but it is starting to feel a bit like cheating on Ultimate Soccer Manager. All done within a liveable budget.
Vela may yet get a few starts in the league as Rosicky is frequently injured. But he's still behind Diaby, and even Lansbury and Gibbs in the queue on the left, although those last two guys will be looking for a loan deal next year. If Vela is the real deal, real quick, what of Diaby's playing time?
He is at Arsenal as we speak.
How do you know he is at Arsenal? only a few blogs are saying this and they are not stating their source. Do you know anything more?
Listen....I've been following this kid since he played in the under 17 world cup and I'll tell you...this kid is THE REAL DEAL! For his age he is a wonderful player,I refuse to believe these reports that he is back with Arsenal because I haven't read anything to confirm that. But he is miles ahead of Diaby! Whenever he gets back from loan I'll be surprised if Diaby is ahead of him on the list because he is much more skilfull than him. I have a cousin living in Spain who is a huge Real Madrid fan and was at the game few weeks back when they played Osasuna and told me that Vela was the stand out player on the pitch! Let's just hope he can adapt to English football!
I reckon he might be training with us whilst Spain have their winter break, he isnt comming back til the end of the season, Wenger said so. He can only get a work permit in March. Hes an amazing player and will be one of the best players in the world eventually. Cheers to the guy who said Lansbury and Gibbs will be ahead of him, made my day, what a joke!
Vela IS the real deal... Ive also been following him for a couple of years now and he has been going off at Osasuna. Pace skill and tactical nous, he'll be good for us on that left hand side although I do believe he will need to adapt to the premiership, he may as well move to us now as he is only being used as a sub and he may as well do that with us...he'll be good back-up for Rosicky.
I compare him to Reyes in terms of skill. He can add something we haven't got at Arsenal: a real winger!
In fact just check here in English!!

great work guys. up until the last two videos of vela, what i'd seen of him in the u-20 world cup painted a pretty bad picture. he was useless in that competition, but i guess his true quality is showing now. I for one cant decide whether it'd be better for arsenal if he comes or stays for the rest of the season. If he stays there, he'll get minutes at a high level of football and would learn a lot. On the other hand, who's to say he isnt good enough to play at arsenal already???? good thing im not arsene wenger.
although i must add, i'm basing my opinion on 2 videos, one of which was barely 30 seconds ;)
Nischit
I have seen him for the whole game against Real and he was very good. Ramos couldn't get near him. I was very impressed.
Maybe Wenger wants to bring him now to Arsenal so that he can introduce him gradualy to the English game and get him ready for next year.
Also The Telegraph have today said that they understand the player has got a work permit....
