Arsenal target Felipe Melo put Brazil one up against the USA in the Confederations Cup being held in South Africa. The final score was 3-0 to Brazil.
He scored a powerful header from close range after a free kick in the seventh minute and Robinho made it 2-0 in the 20th, completing a counter attack that began when DaMarcus Beasley fumbled a short corner kick. Maicon added the third goal in the 62nd.
You can watch Melo's goal on the video screen above.
If he can score these type of goals for Arsenal then we are onto a good thing here.

not impressed...
ITS JUST PAPER TALK!!! Come On ppl
are already assuming he will come to Arsenal
Good way of getting hits there, calling an easy header 'beautiful'.
You're a HACK, this goal isn't beautiful. I'll be surprised if he even comes to Arsenal. WEAK.
Melo scored a nice headed goal but was generally poor against the United States today. Lost possession on numerous occasions – twice he could not simply control the ball with his thigh. Once again did everything to run around his left foot. Over-hit a number of long passes into touch when under no pressure. Came out on the losing end of a few tackles to Michael Bradley. Gilberto was much stronger and more impressive. Melo looked like Denilson on an average day, but stronger in the air. Was not impressive against Egypt either.
Moreover, unless he’s assured of a starting spot at Arsenal, it’s very unlikely he’d want to move and risk his starting spot for Brazil ahead of the world cup.
I have been thoroughly unimpressed with Brazil's defence in the Confed Cup. Gilberto looks a shadow of his former self, he is slower and against Egypt he lost the ball on countless occassions. Besides him, the defence (although not shielded well) is often a complete mess. I don't think Brazil is the country we should be looking at for defenders at the moment
