Arsenal fans should boycott the Milan game

By 1970’s Gooner

It pains me to suggest it. It will hurt me when a lot of Arsenal fans may castigate me for turning against the club that I and all of you love.

But I have to call it as I see it. And it is pretty obvious to me that the Board are quite happy to see the team finish in the top four every season so that the CL money boosts the revenue that is needed to pay off the banks and raise the value of the shares they hold.

Did you know that some Arsenal shares sold for 16.500 each last week! This means that the existing shareholders are making a killing. And this value will increase with every year that passes by.

We were told that constructing a new stadium will put us up there withy the big boys. Well I have news for you Arsenal Board members. It has done exactly the opposite!

We are starved of the cash to buy the quality players that we need to compete. And I don’t mean players of astronomical value but good players, players who can, with the correct management, contribute to success.

We are instead reduced to buying either very young or average players paying minimal fees or on a free transfers! Chamakh, Park, Miyachi, Denilson, Vela, Benayoun, Almunia, Squillaci, Jenkinson.

We are fed up year after year to hear the same things:

‘We need to give time to the young players to evolve’
‘We were so close we only need some twigging to get there’
‘Our development model is sustainable’

Well I have news for you:IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN

The team is now of average quality which is a result of the club’s stingy transfer policy.

It will not win another trophy if it carries on like this.

The shining stars of the team will always leave when they reach 27 or 28 because they will realiSe that they will win trophies if they move away from Arsenal.

Seven years without a trophy. This is nothing mates. We are looking at another 7 years without a trophy.

If we had known about this eventuality we, the fans, would have been quite happy to have stayed at Highbury. There would have been far more funds available than what we are seeing now!

Spurs are doing alright aren't they? And they haven't moved from White Hart Lane have they.

But no the shareholders are not concerned about our views. All they are concerned is to make money. And if that can be achieved without winning trophies then so much the better as it would not involve spending any serious money.

But they seem be to missing out on one thing. The Emirates has to fill its capacity in order for them to rake in the revenue. We the fans can have a say.

And I say we should boycott the Milan game as a warning of what is to come.

I agree with the post.

Supporters should boycott the league games as well when we fall out of the top 4 and can't make 4th.

Wenger and Kroenke OUT!

Yes I agree. We love arsenal till death. But remember this, no one is bigger than the club. Wenger n the board is killing the club! We as fans cannot just sit and wait for miracle to happen. Like wat Einstein said, it's stupid to do the same things over and over again but expect different result!

its true what he is saying. the board is not interested about the team...only for their pockets...so if the stadium is empty, their pockets will be empty as well and they might decide to buy...its a shame that we got one of the best managers in the world and he is not allowed to give wages

Boycott for the right reasons. Not everything going wrong at arsenal is Wenger's fault. Boycott PHW and Stan's inactivity for the club, boycott for sacking Dein - 7 years since he got sacked/7 years without a trophy - interesting pattern.
Remember it's not wenger who sets the high ticket prices so those who do boycott don't then use the excuse that you pay for your tickets.

To 'ronware'.
This is the best blog I have seen in a while. People like you and other 'wenger fans that are afraid of change' are the ones that are spoiling this club. YOU are the fans content and happy with a top 4 spot every season. It is the ones like me and this blogger that aren't satisfied with top 4, we WANT trophies and to do that we have to boycott the Milan game to be heard.
Wenger has lost it, and had lost it for 6 years. How on earth can you replace cesc, nasri, adebayor, gallas, flamini and others hitting the peak of their career with chamakh, ramsey, djourou, denilson and other shit players.
We are on the decline.
Wenger needs to go, he is shit.
We've already missed out on hiddink, o'neill, ancelotti and more.
But we can still get other people.
WENGER OUT!
Reply back if you disagree

its understood the anger..a change is needed for sure, some players are and werent up to the job required for a team like arsenal ( rosicky, diaby, djouru, squillaci, almunia ) some have fallen apart in the last season such us ( song, arshavin, walcott, ramsey )not even jack as nobody cant fill cesc boots so the main objective is getting a real spine ( sahko - m'villa, hazard - matis suarez ) and defenitly we will have a team with the flare and pace lost since the invicibles..no pace,no ideas,no heart,no guts..needs to be restored.gooner forever.

Spurs are doing alright? 1 place above us without having to compete in Europe. Do you think they are going to win a trophy? They don't want a bigger stadium? please don't use that shower of shit as an argument.

Brilliant idea! Don't turn up for a match us ST holders have already paid for; that'll show 'em & hit their pockets.
I hope you didn't waste too much of your Sunday morning writing this drivel.
Support the Arsenal through think & thin ffs.

do u really think that any manager in the world can work miracles without money? its not wenger fault that the board does not give money...if it wasnt for wenger arsenal would of been mid table with the money they give

mentioning o'nielll is the most moronic thing I've heard. Let's force the board to sack wenger and replace o'niell. Why not get piers morgan to do our PR while were at it? You're like spoilt kids. cesc is a judas traitor cunt BTW.

Hmmmm, the game is already sold out, so I guess the protest won't do any good...

I read as far as "the shareholders are making a killing". It told me immediately that you have no clue what you are talking about. Please ask someone to explain investments and stocks to you. Just glad that the majority of comments show that others realise what a fool you are as well. We support Arsenal, not only Arsenal with trophies, not only Arsenal winning. So fuck you and your boycot suggestions. Go and support 'Arry. We don't need your sort.

Totally agree, we fans need 2 do what needs to be done. We have the resources to compete nd yet we never do, the only way to address the management policies that has brought us to this point is to hit them where it determines their decisions, the bottom line. These wenger nuthuggers shud just STFU! What has the team or management done 2 deserve the support of the millions, the just take our money nd feed us lies. Stop being like battered wives and stand up 4 progress. I love this club with everything I have, maybe tough love will get us where we ought to b. Great post

fans should understand tne reason behind the boycott...we all are in agreeement that situation at the club must change, wage structure, marquee signings, mentality, tactics, etc. But the thing is the board and wenger dont want our opinion or dont think about our emotions when making desicions. We fans have been singing with one voice for a change. I remember hill wood say that we fans are foolish atimes....fans foolish?

Anonymous said...

How about we boycott the 1st half that will make a statement and then pile in at half time and sing like fuck ' we love you arsenal we do' for the whole half regardless of the score? Just a thought.

We are actually just a small minded penny pinching club. When Ronaldo went from Manure to Real everyone said it was an insane amount of money to pay.Let me tell you that inside the first season they had recouperated ALL their money on shirt sales etc. Then they givve him astronomical wages, paid for by shirts sales etc, infact htey have allready made a pprofir on signing a player like Ronaldo and Manure made a massive profit on selling him and they didnt drop in standard. They speculate to accumulate it is one of the most used things in the business world bur small timed Wenger and the board would rather have 100 mil in the bank and waste 250 mil on washed up talent that never made it.Chamakh free 60 grand a week in 3 seasons.Park transfer fee 3 mil and 30 grand a week.Diaby 3,5 mil in transfer fee and 50 grand a week for 6 seasons,Almunia free 40 dgrand a week for 4 years,Djourou free 40 grand a week for 7 seasons,Walcott 12 mil and 60 grand a week for 7 seasons,Bendtner 500 thousands pound transfer fee and 50 grand a week for 5 seasons,Squid 3 mil pound transfer and 35 grand a week for 4 years,Deckchair Denilson 2,5 mil transfer and a staggering 60 grand a week all of these players have amounted to absolutely nothing plus some of the dross like vela,Merida etc that have never made it.It is not difficult to see where it has all gone wrong the amount is staggering i have come to between 250 mil and 300 mil wated down the drain.

What is wrong with you peeps? Its been 7 fucking years since we won anything! So boycotting one game is a big deal when nothing is being done?!We use to tolerate not winning but at least playing beautiful football. How long do you want to wait 7 more fucking years?!

Anonymous said...

to 'wenger out now' and his mate, 'danish gooner', STFU and go and support another club; I very much doubt that one of you has been supporting the club home and away for 44 years because if you had, you will have witnessed and experienced the crap periods in that intervening period - most of Terry Neil's stewardship, for example.

I stand with all the posters who support the Arsenal through thick and thin.

Boycotting a game sends exactly what message? How will it convince the club to acquiesce to your wishes? Are you part of the same cabal that was supposed to place black bin liners over every empty seat at the Blackburn game? Nobody gives a flying one about your sort of 'fan' because that's what you are, a mere 'fan'. If you were a supporter you'd be getting behind the team no matter what; I bet you're part of the inbred cretins sitting in the west stand who booed when the Ox was replaced for Arshavin in the Man U game.

So what if your work mates take the michael? So what if the papers claim to know more than Wenger and an endless parade of half-witted c***s with zero, substanive management experience at any level of football dare to offer their bufoonish opinions the sum total of which are ''spend'', ''buy'', ''transfer funds available'' etc. These people along with you clearly don't understand; ''understand what?'' never mind, if you don't get it, you never will.

Old Danish, I wish you well on your campaign, but only to the extent that you support Wenger and this band of players, you bloodclart.

Danish Gooner said...

Listen you halfwit.I dont have to justify how long i have supported Arsenal i could have started yesterday,i know a polished turd when i see one and i know a has been when i see one and the team is one and Wenger is the other one.

Anonymous said...

well then you must have shit all over your hands because your entire history of pushing the anti-Wenger agenda is one almighty polished turd, Danish, old son. Go and spout your inanities on the Arsehole Truth, bell-end.

Watching us get beaten by
Norwich, WBA, etc at Highbury
back in the 80's, doesn't make
our current demise any more
bearable ! And just because I
genuinly fear who our next
manager will be, doesn't mean
I'll ignore Arsene's failures and
his refusal to solve the issues
which are causing Arsenal's
decline. It is our club and we
don't like to see it being
mismanaged.

Every Gooner in the Emirates must give every support to our team or else we're no better than them fickle, delusional, glory hunting spuds.

We all need to take a good, hard look at ourselves from time to time. And maybe ask ourselves if we model ourself on that toff twat in Fever Pitch ?

Back to the Future, anyone ? Is being a 'real' supporter about remembering and cherishing the 'good old days', ie: the 80's, with a half empty Highbury, moaning about paying an extra 20p to stand on the North Bank and watching the likes of John Hawley, Lee Chapman or Raphael Meade lead our attack ? Erm, it wasn't really much fun, was it ?
