Wenger finds perfect new striker only few considered. Now for a centre back

By 1970's Gooner

Gabriel's injury, which will keep him out for up to 8 weeks, coupled with the long term injury suffered in another pre season game by the BFG have forced Wenger to concentrate on getting at least one new central defender asap.

As analysed in a previous post on this site the available money will now be utilised for a new defender. There is no money left for a new forward and we all should be ready to come to terms with it.

BUT there is another very good reason as to why Wenger will not be buying a new forward.

The answer has been staring us in the face for a long time.

Alexis Sanchez is the perfect number 9. He played the role so well against Man City. He ran their defenders rugged making those darting runs in between the lines as well as being very mobile around the dangerous areas.

Such a player is a perfect compliment to the big but not so mobile Giroud allowing Wenger to choose one of them according to the needs of the game in front of him or indeed play them together in the front positions if he so chooses.

Playing Sanchez up front will also allow Wenger more flexibility in giving more games on the wings to Iwobi, Walcott who was very good against City, the Ox and even Ramsey and Wilshere.

There will be no new centre forward bought this window.

This is my prediction.

Knowing Wenger's previous form. Kieran Gibbs will now be the main striker. Sanchez will be moved to center back and someone from the under 16's team will be promoted to the first team midfield. That means we don't even spend £1 on new players keeping the money rolling into Kronke's cash cow.

Wengeris a disgrace and should not be remembered as an Arsenal legend, when he finally decides to get lost. His stupid and ignorant attitude and his stubbornness over the last decade, has stopped Arsenal FC to progress and become a successful football club ON THE PITCH. I actually despise Wenger and have NOTHING but contempt for him and the cronies he surrounds himself with.

Wenger doesn't care a toss about the fans, about how we are the laughing stock of the premiership, the complete embodiment of the saying'also rans' .He doesn't care that all other fans just take the piss out of us,that no player even wants to join Arsenal, that all fans especially Arsenal fans, know ,and have known for the last 10 years that even before a ball has been kicked that we will NOT Win the prem or the UCL,and probably nothing else. All he cares about is how much he can impress the parasite that is Stan Kroenke,by how much he doesn't spend, and of course how moral and loyal he is by never breaking a contract. He is an egotistical arrogant old man that hasn't moved with the times and has been left behind and our club with him.Its about time the fans showed him and Kroenke who really holds the power, without the fans there is no Arsenal,it's our club and we should be heard.

A nitwit trying to grab attention. Comparing performance of a friendly with the EPL and UCL is a joke! Do you think LFC can thrash Barcelona 4-0 in a competitive game? Walcot should not be allowed even near the Arseanl Ladies Team, with all due respect to the wonderful ladies of AFC.
Sanchez might have done so without the presence of any actual central defender with the MCFC defence. Why change a whole team because of something that was well known. the BFG is not getting younger. If he was beaten for pace by a snail last season, what did we expect this one around even without the injury? As for Gabriel, i wouldn't trust him around the 18 yard area even when we are playing a visually-challenged team!
Get players in or get out! Unfortunately, I know it isn't gonna happen. We have a very lethal combination right at the top. A south African CEO, an American owner (no passion for soccer from both, maybe rugby, golf, horse-racing and ranches) combine with a stubborn, delusioned Frenchman who still thinks we are in the 1980's

This article sums up my feelings about the upcoming season.
I have been saying for the last 3 seasons that we will not win the Premier League or Champions League while Wenger is still in charge.
I agree with Paul. 4 seasons ago I didn't renew my membership. While fans are still plowing money into the club nothing will change. Support the players but not the manager or owners.
Stop buying food and drink at the stadium, stop buying merchandise. With all that lost revenue the caterers and Puma will be on the boards back. They'll have to listen to the fans then.
Anyway...That article http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/08/09/how-arsenals-2016-17-season-will-play-out/
