Kolo Toure could start for The Ivory Coast against Egypt

By Aries

Kolo Toure has taken part in training along with his team mates getting ready for the semi final against Egypt.

He did stretching and running exercises on his own before joining his team mates to train with the ball. He also took part in tactical two-a-side training which saw him feature for the second team.

Kolo suffered a groin injury after teeing up his brother,Yaya to score the Ivory Coast’s second goal against Benin in the qualifying round. He was stretchered off holding his groin.

At first it was thought that it was a very serious injury so much so that he was sent to Paris to have a scan organized by Arsenal. Afterwards Arsene Wenger announced that it was a mild groin strain which will take two to three weeks to heal.

That was thirteen days ago which makes it touch and go whether Toure has actually healed properly. If he makes the mistake of playing with the injury then he runs the risk of aggravating it even further and may be causing long term damage.

The semi finals will take place today.

He should stay put and get a well earned rest for the gruelling schedule that awaits him when he gets back
