While everyone and every newspaper and blog has been writing about Samir Nasri’s imminent transfer to Arsenal today his agent has gone on record in the last few hours that the transfer has still not gone through!
He has admitted to local Marseille newspaper La Provence that his client has indeed received an offer from Arsenal but that they have had other offers too.
Jean-Pierre Bernès has said: “Nothing is done. There is no hurry. We actually are studying a proposal from Arsenal for Samir Nasri, but I also received other offers."
He is the one on the right.
It has been reported that an offer has been put on the table by Arsene Wenger which would be enough to trigger the buy out clause that Nasri’s contract contains.
A contract which he signed only very recently.
This is set at about 12m pounds but these other offers that the agent is insisting to have received may contain better personal terms for Nasri than Arsenal’s!
On the other hand it may only be the usual agent talk to try and squeeze as much out of Arsenal as possible.
We shall have to wait and see.

I'm still pretty certain that he will join. Now we know that we have certainly made an offer for him, before we didnt. I felt it was all a bit sudden for him to suddenly be in London to discuss personal terms and have photos, that news came from nowhere. We have made a proper offer and Im sure get him. Its obvious that one of the other teams is Lyon, we know that but he wont want to go to another French team!
Hlebs going, and it seems we have also made an offer to Ben Arfa so that is what makes me feel hes gone.
Im sure we'll get one or the other before the 7th of June! Hopefully its Nasri first!

If I was Wenger I'd immediately look elsewhere and say the deal is off.
If anyone is so unprofessional they'll resort to tactics like this to get a better deal, Arsenal should look elsewhere. We don't need big names.

I'd rather have Hleb for one more year and then sell him rather then losing both Flamini and Hleb. Two of Arsenal's pillars of success.

Wenger and bernes are mortal enemies dating back to his monaco days when marseille bought a few games for the title.bernes was involved and did a stint in prison for it.Wenger is refusing to deal with him and is insisting that he changes agent, hence the held up , i would be amazed if this goes through quickly.
Interesting theory sameagain dave, maybe Arsenal should choose all the players agents before they sign them, so we wont have the headache every season of players wanting to leave.
Not a theory i'm afraid.there is genuine interest from Arsenal but will it go through smoothly i doubt it.
How come they can reveal Arsenal's offer but don't mention who the 'other' offers were from.....??!
