Dzeko’s contract talks with Wolfsburg postponed in view of impending transfer

By Aries

As we published yesterday on “Arsenal Analysis” agent Ifran Redžepagić met with Adriano Galliani and Ariedo Braida, AC Milan’s President and Finane director respectively, in Sarajevo to discuss Dzeko’s transfer.

We can now reveal that Dzeko has made his choice and AC Milan will most likely be his next club, not Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Inter or Lyon.

This looks likely after his agent announced today that negotiations with Wolfsburg, Dzeko’s current club, for a contract extension, have been put on hold as they will now begin transfer negotiations with AC Milan.

“I was due to be at Wolfsburg on Monday for a meeting with the top people of the club, but the situation has completely changed after Milan showed their interest. That is why the meeting has been canceled. Now it's up to the two clubs, if they will agree or not” said Redžepagić.

It is obvious that talks with the other clubs have been put on hold and Milan is now the preferred option. Milan is reported to have offered £25.8 m (€30m)and a £1.72m (€2m) annual salary.

Dzeko has already stated that Milan has always been his boyhood team and that it will be a dream come true to play for them.

"They have always been my favourite club, right back to my days as a small boy, growing up in Sarajevo" he said recently.

i'm devastated but £25.8 m? that's alot for someone who have only had 1 great season in the not so great bundesliga, i think. Do you have any info on whether the links we have had with Pavel Pogrebnyak are true?

Why are you even posting updates of this? It has nothing to do with us. We were never going to buy him anyway.

My poor beloved Arsenal are slowly becoming a small team. Everyone used to want to come to us, now our image seems to have changed. i think it's because everyone knows we don't have the money to spend, that and we haven't won any silverware in 5 years.

there he goes...

HAHA... what people don't realise id that Wenger always knows what he's doing... the focus is completely off Pavel Pogrebnyak and he can come on a free and is the exact same player but much quicker but most importantly.. he has unbelievable link up play with our main man Ashavin.. hers proof..

We got 5 poor players and unless we sell 2 or 3 of them - there won't be any major signings, forget about it. Milan sold their biggest star and even Pato might be on his way to Chelski, so they have enough cash to splash to replenish the ranks. Ajax's Vermaelen is all we can hope for at this moment.

We will sign Pavel Pogrebnyak. Free agent in November... So why not offer 6 million now?

I doubt that Arsenal were ever really interested, his agent probably threw our name into the pot to stir interest because we know that if Arsene is interested others will follow.

More fool Millan I say if they are willing to spend half the money they got for Kaka. I would be very disappointed to see Arsenal spend that kind of money on a striker who we don't need. At least it means Ade won't be leaving now if Milan get their man.

My arse!!

When Bergkamp joined Arsenal, he was the first foreign player that anyone had heard of to join Arsenal. The great successes like Petit & Vieira, Henry etc. were all players who were struggling and we gave them a lifeline. The big-name players have always preferred Milan, Juventus, Madrid and Barcelona because they have always attracted more of the limelight and because they pay more money.

It's a shame if he does go to Milan cause he is a very good player and would fit in perfectly to our team. Now with Milan going for him it's likely Ade will stay and not really because he wants to but more so because no one else really wants him. Which is annoying. Oh yeah and why the fuck would anyone join Milan, they hardly ever fill their stadium and with Kaka and possibly Pato leaving combined with their ageing squad they'll be shite next season. Ah well at least Beckham will add some youth and pace to their side when he rejoins them.

If the section of so called 'fans' of Arsenal who accuse them of being a "selling" club are to be consistent, they must now also start referring to AC Milan in the same terms too, following the sale of their biggest playing asset, Kaka, to Real Madrid.

Whoever said we're a selling club is stupid. Henry, Pires, Ljungburg, Edu and Lehmann to name but a few were allowed to leave because they were past their best and or were becoming injury prone. The only one that left these last couple of years that perhaps Wenger wanted to stay were Flamini and Hleb but Flamini was out of contract and well let's be honest about Hleb he never shoots and was quite frustrating at times.

Believe me its made up story, same newspapers told that Citeh offering 30 millions.
Second thing is that everyone quoting his interview in whcih he said he was Milan fan as a kid. But fact is that he said it 3 months ago. Just week ago on press conference on which he was supposed to tell what he planing in future, he said "My first choice is to stay in Wolfsburg, but if they don't go along with my wishes I am going in to EPL".
And today freshest news is that Wolfsburg offered twice bigger salary than Milan.
So most likely Redzepagic is just moron who sealing "him self" more than Dzeko.

It'll be my last comment on the guy because i've been talking about Dzeko for the last couple of months and I honestly think he'd be better off going to Arsenal. Is it weird of me to think he'd have a better chance of winning the Champions League with us than with that bunch of geriatrics and cheats.

The only way we could get this Dzeko, pronounced zeko, is if Milan pay us 20 mil for Ade.

This guy is not unknown he has had 2 good seasons and a great record at International level. I also know that Wenger has personally watched him 3 seasons ago even before he went to Wolfsburg, but decided he needed someone a bit older and we got Adebuyor.

Its a little risk, but for that price Wenger would not take this one.
