Arshavin misses Arsenal medical due to London traffic jam

By 1970’s Gooner

Arshavin is in London and doing well.

There has been a lull of information coming out of either camp with the on going saga of Arshavin’s transfer to Arsenal. Some journalists have even questioned whether Arshavin has actually made his way to London to undergo his medical and sign the transfer papers.

Arshavin was not on the plane with the rest of his Zenit teammates when they returned from their winter tour of the Arab Emirates. He took a different route but with the same destination: The Emirates in London…

At the arrivals hall at Heathrow airport he was met with the Arsenal representatives but once they boarded the Arsenal mini bus they were stuck in the traffic jam around the airport and elsewhere in London, so the Russian press is reporting.

This meant that they were a number of hours late for their various appointments inclusive of the rigorous and lengthy medical check up that all football players have to go through.

But the good news is that everything is expected to be completed in time by tomorrow Monday 2nd of February when the transfer window closes.

Zenit signed an attacking midfielder from FC Hanover today so maybe that was significant to our deal

SSN are reporting he's just boarded the private jet. Zenit are saying no agreement has been met but he has left incase a deal is done.

Why should we believe your story and not theres?

Just a question btw not an argument, lol.

I am in the journalism business and all media in the UK are notoriously late about publishing a story. First they are slow in picking up the news, then they have to check it for authenticity and by the time they actually publish it the story is already old (in journalistic terms) especially when it involves someone travelling on a plane.

Not sure if this is true but lets hope it is and that the club have a pen and a working fax machine to make the 5pm deadline

SSN said last week he was off to City! They are hardly a beacon when it comes to accuracy

So what, he's just using arsenal as a stepping stone for his dream move to Barcelona. Don't forget that he wanted to sign for spurs in the summer, just zenit wouldn't sell for less then £20m then. And where would he play. His favored position is just behind the lone striker like Bergkamp role. So who will miss out, Adebayor or Van Persie.

If anything it's a link at least...

Arshavin can play either wing too. So it'll be Eboue missing out then!

Anonymous 10:40's Totenham in disguise.
Stepping stone? he is 27 you moron, this is likely to be his last club until Wenger deems too old, at which time he will retire in a slower paced league.

I hope he puts pressure on Ade to start living up to his own admission that he should be on Henry-like wages. The guy has been the biggest let down in a season where only Djourou and RVP have had decent seasons.

Anon 11:09 - Nasri has been a bit inconsistent, but it's been a decent season for him too.

Wilshere is our young player of the season. Hopefully he'll make his breakthrough next year.

Not only do I agree with most of the comments left before me, but I also feel greatly attentive to what everyone here is expressing in their comments. Some of you I can say that I truly am able to relate to you, and some just make me wonder if I can ever relate to the way lots of you feel! In some ways it could be happy but if the feeling isn't really in the happiness stage of things then all I can say is I hope the becoming aware part of things does eventually work out for all of us in the end of things.. But alongside this topic, I love it! And it really is great to see a lot of us participating and really putting effort into collaborating one of the best blogs we've yet come to see!
