As you may recall “Arsenal Analysis” first printed the story about Arshavin having to undergo an initiation ceremony in front of his new team mates.
“The club has a tradition where every rookie after dinner before a game should stand on a chair and do something. You can sing a song, read poetry” he said.
As we revealed he did not have to go through it last week as the club’s new doctor had to do it prior to the Sunderland game.
He was referring to Arsenal’s newly appointed doctor Gary O’Driscoll. He replaced Ian Beasley who has taken up a role within the England national setup.
But Arshavin couldn’t get out of it when the Fulham game came round.
As he admitted he stood on a chair and started giving a sort of a speech.
The Arsenal players wouldn’t have any of it though and they demanded that he sing. When they were informed by Andrey that what they were hearing was him actually singing they started to run away.
“They all, however, demanded from me to sing, but when I said: that is me singing - they just fled” he said to the Russian media.
Let’s hope that all the Arsenal players are singing from the same tune sheet when it comes to actually performing on the football field.
