Fabregas and Gallas in the world's best eleven players of the year

By Aries

Journalists of the prestigious French newspaper “L'Equipe” have chosen their best eleven for 2007 and the Premier League has seven representatives. Among them Arsenal’s Fabregas, for the first time and also Gallas who was also in the team last year.

Cesc Fabregas has been in fantastic form this season adding goals and steel to his marvelous displays which have been instrumental in pushing Arsenal to the top of the Premier League and through to the last 16 of the Champion’s League.

The other Premier League players are Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra and Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United, Steven Gerrard of Liverpool and Didier Drogba of Chelsea.

There were two players from the Spanish League, Daniel Alves of Seville and Real Madrid’s Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus) and the midfielder Kaká (Milán) were the representatives of the Italian League.

Gallas and the goalkeeper Buffon are the only ones who were chosen for the best eleven last year.

Team of the Year:

Buffon

Alves Gallas Vidic Evra

Ronaldo Fabregas Gerrard kaka

Drogba Van Nistelroy

What a team!

pfff, buffon? what has he done exactly? kaka as left-winger? pfff, just what some 10-year-olds would say

Does that mean Cesc's so great that he would push Kaka to the left wing if they were to play together?

The midfield would be more like this if it were to work:
Gerrard Kaka Cesc Ronaldo

Buffon being selected is a joke. He played in Serie B for half the year.

was Gallas that good last year? I'm not sure he was. Decent for France. Injured for us, LB more often than not, and seemingly out of form.

Great this season, no-one can deny that.

Vidic and Evra - what a joke ! I would say Van der Sar or Casillas instead of Buffon. Also, if you consider this season then Torres is a must.

vidic or evra? i'd say they both are good enough to be there. maybe clichy runs evra close, but everyone has different opinions. and both of em are certainly good enough.

though i think kolo deserves much more to be there in gallas' stead, considering this season's form, its not too bad.

the only other player i would want on the list is rvp, and he'd be there too, if he werent injured all the time.

if its on last seasons form, then Beckhams inspirational title Winning 5 month comeback to the Real Madrid team would surely make him hard not to pick? From what i saw of him for club and country in the later half of the season, he was in better form than Gerrard, cesc and Kaka, Ronaldo is in different league altogether, for the whole of 2007 he has been amazing!!! Gerrard is patchy and fab has just come in to form!! Kaka is over rated!!

hows that!!

Buffon and Gerrard (they're having a laugh, surely!?) should be replaced by Casillas and Cambiasso.

Ibrahimovic should edge Van Nistelrooy out of the team too, for his all-round stunning contribution to Inter Milan.

Ruud van nistelroy doesn't deserve to be in tha side, he woulnd't work with drogba. Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be better
