Partey should stay at home

 By 1970s Gooner

It looks as though we've got Rice and that's wonderful especially as Xhaka has already gone.

What a tremendous trio of midfield players we could have next season in Rice, Partey and Odegaard. A midfield which would put the fear in most teams in the Pl and able to compete on an equal basis with Man City and the other top teams.

But if what is being rumoured, that Thomas Partey could leave in this window, proves to be true then we surely cannot rely on Jorginho or Elneny to fill that gap. Especially against a more demanding opponent.

And of course Rice can fill that void but I don't think that Havertz can do the box to box Xhaka role as well.

So imo if we allow Partey to go then we haven't improved our midfield at all. And we would still need to splash unnecessary cash to replace Partey as well as facing the risk that the new midfielder may not prove to be an adequate replacement.

Let's face it Partey is able to control games as a sole pivot in the middle. No one can do that job as well as he has been doing it. Granted his injury record is not that good but if need be with Rice we now have a very good replacement which we didn't last season.

Partey should not be allowed to leave.

Fully agree. Partey should stay put.

I keep saying this but some arrogant arsenal fans think we will be fine to let him go. At least we need him for one more season. Not Rice nor Lavia can control the game like partey does. Partey, Rice/Havertz, Odegaard is the dream midfield partner depending on the opposition.

Not sure I agree with your analysis. Rice is an upgrade on Partey and Harvetz is potentially an upgrade on Granit. It’s these incremental increases that may make the difference. Liverpool did it when they signed Van Dyke and Allison. Also not sure Partey will want to stay as a squad member which is what he is likely to be.

totally agree , keep him save the cash being spent on another holding mid. why would he think he would be a squad player?

I don't know where this madness of Partey leaving is coming from. We are even looking for a young defensive midfielder like 3 to 6m pounds Zambrano Preciado of L.D.U Quito to deputise him. If we have money we can go for Tchouameni to rotate with him. I know that Arteta never liked Partey from day one but I don't think he can risk selling him because he hardly win any game without him in the defensive midfield position.

Partey should remain at the club

Let your Rice start playing first. Partey started 26 Premiership games this season in the defensive midfield position. We lost just one of them - to City. He was not on the defensive midfield position when we lost the other five Premiership games. Season before last we lost our first three Premiership games that he did not play. We did not even score any goal. Rice is more of a central midfielder than a defensive midfielder. The likes of Henderson and Philips protects him in England while Soucek protects him at West Ham. We even need an assistant to Partey. It will be suicidal to think of selling him.

How can you said arteta doesn't Like Partey while he is the one that bought him partey only have injury issue but if partey is available and on form no mater who is your midfielder he must control the Midfield that's partey

I do like Partey as a player and was extremely exited when we completed the transfer for him. However since he got convicted by the peoples court, got boo'ed at every away-game, he hasn't been the same force. Even forcing Arteta to use him at right back. That was it for me, so please sell him to Saudi for a lot of money, so we can keep rebuild younger and more talented.

Agree. Arsenal can afford the potential reduction in Partez value if his inclusion for one more year brings results and silverware

We don't know all the facts. It could be just about money. Perhaps Partez has been offered less money to extend his contract than he thinks is fair. I can see both sides point of view but just hope they reach a compromise and Partez stays. I think he is brilliant

The possibility of an indictment must make any potential transfer really complicated. Anyone know the next possible date for appearance

You don't spend £105m and £65m for them to sit on the bench.

Odegaard - Rice - Havertz

They will dominate. Partey will be sold if someone stumps up enough cash.
