Sagna “We are young and gifted” But keep your hair on please!

By 1970’s Gooner

Bakary Sagna has been speaking from the base of the France National team at Clairefontaine about Arsenal’s fantastic start to this season’s campaign.

He feels that this is a result that has been partly prompted by all the critics and doubters.

‘We did not expect to be first and to have such an outstanding beginning to the season. We are a young and gifted team. The fact that there were so many doubters at the beginning of season “pepped” us up’

Sagna also said that he did not realise how high the quality of football played at Arsenal would be.

‘I was told that it is impressive and that it is played at a quick pace. Now I see it with my own eyes’

He also found the Premiership is played at a higher pace and commitment in comparison to the French league.

This commitment was epitomised by Sunderland’s come back last Sunday from 2-0 down to draw level.

It has to be said however that the young defender did not have one of his better games for Arsenal against Sunderland.

His introduction into the team seemed to have been made almost effortlessly and he looked right from the beginning as a typical Wenger player.

So it was to be expected that sooner or later he will have an average game.

And he was partly at fault for the second Sunderland goal. He was late in coming back from an attacking foray into the other half and so was Toure who had to cover for him.

This left the middle of the Arsenal defence unguarded with only Clichy present to challenge that giant Jones.

Another theory that might gain ground is the absence of his famous hair locks.

They have been present in all his previous starts for Arsenal bar the Sunderland game.

Has he cut them off or were they prosthetically placed in the first place?

Whatever it is please get them back on Bakary. They are not only considered lucky they also become you!

First was Hleb, then Fabregas followed by Adebayor now its Van Persie…..

Who Would Wenger Take From Manchester United’s Team?

An open letter to Manchester United fans

Keep your hair on 1970's gooner. The lad has been magnificent for us so far and he adjusted so quickly to the premiership. He is allowed to have an "average" game as you say!

Sagna has been excellent so far but he was out of position for that second Sunderland goal. But Wenger will teach him and every one else the next time not to repeat the same mistake. Then we will be blowing teams away.

Please please Sagna get those locks back on. The hair style does become you and oppositions fear you more for the start you've made in that hair. Yes you had an average game without that hair and now opponents will think this is the new you- weak Sagna!! we don't want that happening so we plead for you to get those goldie locks back which is the fear factor also.

Sagna has fitted in the side like he has played for Arsenal for years. He's like Eboue but can defend and head the ball excellently. I wondered what was Wenger's thinking first of all when signing Sagna but he has been proved right again! A proper defender who will only get better and when we sign Micah Richards and sell Senderos our defence is complete! Wrighty7.

I also think that like On D Gooner that maybe Gagna's strength has something to do with his goldie locks. Please bring them back Bakary!

Goldie locks forever!

Sagna's hair should be restored. It brings good luck and we may need it if we are to go unbeaten this season!

"Samson is something of a Herculean figure, using massive strength to combat his enemies and to perform heroic feats unachievable by ordinary men: wrestling a lion, slaying an entire army with nothing more than a donkey's jawbone, and tearing down an entire building". (Wikipedia)
Could a comparison be made to Sagna? Was his power compromised by some mysterious Delilah? I beg to differ. Just remember how ridiculous Fabregas looked when he first played for Arsenal with that long redneck style haircut.
I'd rather blame the linesman for disallowing third Arsenal goal then the ugly locks on defender's head.
