Arsenal table concrete offer to Mputu

By Aries

Tresor Mputu, as has recently been reported on this site, has finished a ten day trial at Arsenal which has been described by his agent as successful.

This trial period ended at the beginning of this month and it is now reported that Wenger was so impressed with Mputu that he has instructed Arsenal’s top management to open negotiations with the player’s African club TP Mazembe.

Mputu’s agent Bajo Bujani has said that Tresor has also attracted interest from Spanish club, Sevilla.

“While Sevilla have also shown great interest, I believe Tresor will end up in England. Arsenal have given TP Mazembe until Monday to respond to their offer and I’m convinced that the deal will be completed after the weekend,”

The pint-sized but highly skilful forward currently tops the Caf Champions League goalscoring table with 11 goals to his name.

Wenger, a shrewd transfer dealer, would obviously like to get his man before he bursts on the scene and his value sky rockets.

Former Congo coach Claude Le Roy described Mputu as better than Samuel Eto'o!

You can watch Mputu's football skills on the top of the page by clicking on the video window.

As you can see from the videos we have assembled Tresor is a cool finisher in front of goal.

He is also blessed with pace and good technique which is of course a sine qua non for any player if he is to be given half a chance of making it to London Colney.

He can also kick where it hurts!

he looks more like loui saha but i heard that he is a bright prospect that carlos vela. lets hope that arsenal will sign him for a fair price and give him a squad place in the carling cup. We have a lot of strikers.

My opinion is that Wenger would send him abroad if he signs him and will him some first team experience, like Vela.

A glut of midfielders and now a glut of stikers. Of course now the glut of midfielders looks waranted given our injury problems lets hope our strikers don't go the same way.

Ade, RVP, Bendtner, Eduardo, Walcott, Vela, Mputu.

Mputu will probably go out on loan but that does leave 6 strikers for 4 places when Vela returns next year. Maybe we can play a 4-3-3

This is agent driven and not a word of truth in it. It is a real as Father Christmas. For kids and those off with the fairies.

He is not as good as any of our youth strikers and he is OK in terms of DR Congo team, but nowhere near as good as Lua Lua and would he get into an Arsenal team?

IF these guy does join and IF he is very good, then it's probably best to try and convert him into a winger considering how many strikers we have and I'm not overly impressed with Eboue's sporradic form.

Taking that into account IF he turns out to be the business as I said, I say sell Eboue for whatever he must be worth (which must be £8 mil or so I'd guess) and it's happy days all round.

Lots of ifs in that though, so probably none of what I suggested will ever happen :P

Damn I was going to buy a new Hummer in late 2012 and drive around the country for a vacation, Now I am going to have to shave my head and join the Hari.s, Muslims, Jews, Jehovah s, Mormons, Christians, and a few other wing nut groups just to cover all my bases.
